Welcome to Grow Love Wood and Things
A little story behind the name Grow Love…
About 15 years ago, I painted a simple little picture with a bird in it. Ever since then, it’s been a running family joke that the bird looks more like a Pac-Man ghost than an actual bird. It always made us laugh, and over the years the painting just became one of those small, meaningful things that quietly stayed part of our lives.
Then on Christmas Day in 2020, a dear friend of ours noticed the painting and said something that stuck with me:“You need to put that on a T-shirt because the world needs more love.”
At the time, I don’t think any of us realized just how much those words would mean.
A few months later, in April of 2021, we unexpectedly lost that friend. But somehow, those simple words never left my heart.
So when Darren and I started dreaming about creating our little business and talking about what to call it, I instantly knew the name had to include Grow Love. It felt like more than just a name — it felt like a reminder. A reminder to lead with kindness, spread love freely, and hold onto the people and moments that matter most.
What started as a funny little “Pac-Man bird” painting became something so much more meaningful to us. And now, every time we see the words Grow Love, we think of friendship, memories, laughter, and the idea that the world could always use a little more love.
